This full-time position involves providing essential therapeutic services remotely as well as in an outpatient office setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and treating individuals—particularly women and teenagers—who have faced trauma related to domestic violence, utilizing various counseling methodologies including Play Therapy for children.

The Counselor role offers a flexible work environment with options for both remote work and in-office days, tailored to best serve our client population while promoting work-life balance for our staff. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to tailor treatment goals for each individual client.
\n
• Provide individual and group therapy sessions for adults and specialized Play Therapy for children impacted by domestic violence.
\n
• Engage in crisis intervention as needed, offering immediate support and planning for long-term care solutions.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and legal requirements.
\n
• Participate in clinical supervision meetings regularly to enhance professional development and improve therapeutic practices.
\n
• Provide clients with appropriate community resources and referrals to aid in their recovery and support network.
\n
• Document and report on counseling sessions and client progress to the Director of Clinical & Counseling Services to inform organizational strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is on women and teens who have experienced the devastating effects of domestic violence. The Counselor will facilitate healing through interventions designed specifically for individuals who face various emotional and psychological challenges related to trauma. Additionally, specialized Play Therapy techniques will be employed for children, providing a nurturing avenue for them to express their feelings and experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
\n
• An active Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) license is a must.
\n
• Strong experience in individual counseling and family interventions is essential.
\n
• Availability to work late afternoon hours (3-8 pm) at least two evenings per week.
\n
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation joining client outreach efforts as necessary.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience and a strong interest in providing Play Therapy services will be highly regarded.
\n
• Some availability for weekend work is preferred, expanding the reach of therapeutic services.
\n
• Experience with trauma-informed care methodologies and knowledge of domestic violence resources is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to 105,000 annually, with potential bonuses available.
